Coup D’etat (2017)
Starring Michael Caine, Katie Holmes and Jason Biggs
When political turmoil forces a British-Caribbean dictator to flee his island nation, he seeks refuge and hides with a rebellious teenage girl in suburban America, and ends up teaching the young teen how to start a revolution and overthrow the “mean girls” in her high school.
Lady Bird (2017)
Starring Saoirse Ronan and Jake McDorman
Odeya plays Jenna Walton a high-school senior and her last year in Sacramento. Directed by Greta Gerwig from her own script. IAC Films is financing the film.
Goosebumps 2 (2018)
While no cast has been officially announced yet for Goosebumps 2, we would be surprised if Odeya doesn’t return. The released date as already been confirmed for January 2018.
Freddie Highmore, Odeya Rush and Haley Joel Osment have been tapped to topline Jake Goldberger’s coming-of-age dramedy Holding Patterns, which is now in production in Mobile, AL. The pic centers on a man (Highmore) in his mid-20s and still living at home with his mother and stepfather who puts all his eggs in one basket: the girl (Rush) who works at his local coffee shop. The problem is, she has a serious boyfriend. As the become closer, the line between friendship and intimacy is blurred, and the situation forces both to examine where they are in their lives.
Rita Volk, Jake Abel and Taylor John Smith co-star. Alex Ginzburg and Tony Lee are producing for Let It Play, along with Jim Young for Animus Films. The latter company produced Goldberger’s debut feature Don McKay starring Thomas Haden Church, Elisabeth Shue and Melissa Leo.
Ginzburg and Lee’s Let It Play most recently was behind Hardcore, which stars Sharlto Copely and Haley Bennett and was produced by Timur Bekmembetov; the actioner will premiere in Toronto this year. It’s also developing Crossface, the film about WWE superstar Chris Benoit, who killed his wife and 7-year-old son before committing suicide in 2007.
